«HERBANIA»
''HERBANIA'', NEW CD FOR IBS CLASSICAL
Yes, there is 20th-century Spanish music written for an instrument as old as the key! Composers impose no limits: they like their rhythm, their timbre; they love to dream the past.
Following in the footsteps of her latest and most fascinating CD “Chaconnerie” – which includes the Montuno by Roberto Sierra nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards– the harpsichordist Silvia Márquez Chulilla presents here a surprising bouquet of pieces composed between 1952 (in a pleyel key!) and 1996.
Three world’s first recordings – J. Homs, A. Oliver Pina, J. Ma Sánchez-Verdú – and three of the most famous Spanish composers of the moment – Tomás Marco, José Luis Turina and the aforementioned Sánchez-Verdú – invite you to delve into the sharp, metallic, rhythmic, evocative sound of the second half of the twentieth century Spanish.
